Matrix Therapies is based on the concept that it is important to clear negative emotions, negative influences and limiting beliefs that surround events from the past, in order to change behavioural patterns in the present.
When a traumatic event in childhood is not resolved, a certain part of a person’s psyche remains at that age. When a current event reminds them of the past, this is the trigger and they find themselves behaving like they did when they were a child, and they feel disempowered and un-resourceful.
When they heal these events, they find that they have all their adult resources available and can think clearly and objectively.
Matrix Therapies is different to other emotional techniques, as it has the ability to clear complex structures of emotions and beliefs at the one time. It also focusses on the complex programming that we adopted from our parents, which may limit our potential with regard to careers, money and relationships.
Matrix Therapies removes what is “not you” It allows us to learn from the past, release it and let go, allowing us to move forward with renewed confidence, clarity and self-awareness.
Matrix Therapy, developed by Pip McKay, incorporates Timeline Therapy, Inner Child Healing and there are similarities to Brandan Bays Journey Work though it is not based on it. It allows for a client to empty out and say what they may never felt safe enough to say before, but it also can greatly increase the emotional healing process with tangible results usually over a period of 6-12 sessions.
